Jeff Allen committed to Virginia Tech on June 27th, 2005. At the time, he had played his previous season at DeMatha Catholic but would transfer to another prestigious prep institution – Oak Hill Academy – for 2005/2006. He is now at Hargrave Military Academy and all he needs to do is to graduate in order to qualify for Virginia Tech. Presumably, the talented forward will finally be in Blacksburg later this year.

“It seems long,” Allen said with a laugh of finally getting to Tech later this year.

By playing with and against some of the top competition in the country over the past three seasons, the versatile forward is ready to compete on the next level.

“I feel pretty prepared right now because most of the players I’ve played against are going to the ACC, so I’m going to see those guys again,” Allen said. “It’s really not going to be a big difference. The games will be fast-paced. All the players will be bigger and stronger, so that will probably be the biggest difference.”
