At 29-0 and ranked the #4 team in the nation by USA Today, Montverde Academy (FL) features one of the top remaining unsigned players in the country in 6-4, 185-pound two-guard Gary Clark . Virginia Tech is just one of many schools showing heavy interest in Clark, who may visit Blacksburg next month.

Clark was a commitment to the University of Florida, but that has not been the case since last October.

“It was a mutual decision for Florida and Gary to open things up,” Montverde Academy head coach Kevin Sutton said. “He does have a scholarship offer to Florida, but Florida said it would be all right if he looked around. He has an interest in them, but it’s not a high priority.”

In addition to an offer from the Gators, Clark also claims offers from Illinois, Oklahoma, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest. Georgia is showing interest but has not yet offered. Virginia Tech is showing heavy interest, although an official offer may not be on the table at this time.
