Roberts Sets Visit to VT

Desmond Roberts was a hot commodity earlier on in the recruiting process, that is until he made a verbal commitment to N.C. State in late August. Roberts is once again a hot commodity, as he has decided to take a closer look at other programs – three others, to be exact – before he signs a letter of intent. He maintains his commitment to N.C. State, but he is certainly open.

“I’m still committed to N.C. State right now. I am looking around, though,” said Roberts, who decided to give other schools a look once Chuck Amato was dismissed from N.C. State. “Coach [Tom] O’Brien seems like a pretty decent guy. I’m going there on January 12th for my official visit. I’ll get a chance to meet him in person and see what’s going on up there.”

The other programs in the mix include North Carolina, Penn State and Virginia Tech.

“I have set official visits to Virginia Tech, Penn State and North Carolina. I think they are in that order,” Roberts said. “I know Carolina is last.”
