6-1, 288-pound Varina defensive tackle Bud Tribbey remains stagnant in terms of his decision-making process, with Syracuse and Virginia Tech still deadlocked at the top of his list. There is some new information, however. Bud has set one official visit for later this month and a new school may be trying to join the two leaders.

“I’ve heard a couple of times this month from N.C. State,” Tribbey said. “I think they are trying to jump in the picture. It’s still between Syracuse and Virginia Tech, but N.C. State is putting in more effort.”

So, for now, Syracuse and Virginia Tech continue to be the teams to beat. And Virginia Tech will land the first official visit as the standout prospect has set a date with the Hokies.

“I really can’t say which one is the favorite right now,” Tribbey said of Tech and Syracuse. “I wish I could, but I can’t. I’m supposed to take an official visit to Virginia Tech on September 30th. I’m supposed to set one up with Syracuse, but I haven’t. I’ll probably take one there.”
