According to his father Mordecai, Jay Smith may be looking to make a decision sometime soon. The top receiver in the state of Virginia, Smith, a four-star prospect, had wanted to make a commitment by October 26th – his birthday. Could a decision come earlier than the late October date?

“That’s the tentative date, but, just from reading Jay, I think he wants to end this thing,” Mordecai Smith said. “I think he’s going to end it real soon. I know he’s excited about the visit to Virginia Tech and I know he’s real excited about the visit to Raleigh. Somewhere in there, I have to get him to Miami and I have to get him to Notre Dame. Those are the main four he’s talking about right now.”
