Young Energized for 2006 Season

Star defensive lineman Justin Young certainly remembers Northwest’s (Germantown, MD) state championship run in 2004. After a disappointing 5-5 season in 2005, Young is looking to lead the Jaguars on another run to glory in what will be his senior season.

“I can’t wait for the season to start,” Young said. “I’m really excited about this season. It’s my last season at Northwest. We’ve got a good running back in Anthony King. We have some good linemen. The list goes on…we just have a good team this year.”

Young, who primarily plays defensive end in Northwest’s 3-4 defense (but has played defensive tackle in other formations), has added 15 pounds of good weight since the end of last season and now checks in at 6-4, 255 pounds. He’s improved in other areas as well.

“My feet are better. My technique is better. I’ve matured as a leader,” Young said. “I’m just ready to lead my team to another state championship.”
