Virginia Tech has landed one of the fastest players in the state of Virginia. Following today’s senior camp, head coach Frank Beamer offered this standout wide receiver and received a verbal commitment a short time later.

“Virginia Tech actually offered today. Coach Beamer told me he wanted me to come. I was thinking then that I wanted to commit, but I took my time. I went on a tour of the campus and, after that, I went ahead and committed,” said Halifax (South Boston, VA) star Patrick Terry .

The 6-0 1/2, 182-pound Terry put on a show in the testing portion of today’s combine. He posted a 4.39 in the 40-yard dash and had a 34 1/2 vertical leap. In the one-on-one’s, he says he “clicked” with top quarterback recruit Tyrod Taylor.

“I started off the day good,” Terry said of his performance in the testing drills.
