Robinson Discusses UVa Trip

Heading into his unofficial visit to UVa this past weekend, Salem (NJ) inside linebacker Lamont Robinson had been considering making visits to other schools. So did the visit change anything for one of UVa’s top commitments for the 2005 recruiting class?

“It definitely changed a lot,” Robinson said. “Going down there, being a part of the atmosphere and developing my relationships with the coaches and the players more made me feel more confident in my decision. Just being there and seeing how I fit in made me confident in my decision. I’d say I’m not really considering other schools anymore.”

Robinson made the visit with his mother. They stayed overnight so Lamont could show her around.

“She loved it,” Robinson said. “It was like love at first sight. She said it was everything plus peaches and cream for her. She had a real good feeling about the coaches and the players and the people in the stadium. She was impressed with how nice the people were…and not just the people in the football program. She said she definitely felt comfortable with me being there and only 4 hours away.”
