While most recruits were busy preparing for their senior season’s, participating in camps or visiting college campuses, Lamont Robinson was recovering from a potentially devastating experience. Shortly after announcing his commitment to the University of Virginia, Robinson was involved in a car accident that resulted in serious injuries to the neck and back.
Thankfully, he is almost fully recovered.
“I had car accident and I broke bones in my back and neck,” Robinson said. “The summer went by real well. I healed up and just got my release to get back working out. I broke 2 vertebras, so I needed fusion surgery. The doctor was the team physician for the N.Y. Jets and Giants, and that was his specialty. Athletically-related, I’m right up there now and ready to go. It’s not going to hurt my football career at all.”
An up-beat personality, Robinson sees the experience as a positive.
