Big-Time LB Joins ‘Hoos

UVa received a commitment from another top player in the state of New Jersey. Salem High School inside linebacker Lamont Robinson chose UVa over offers from Miami, Michigan, and Ohio State among others. He has received a total of 26 official scholarship offers.

“Yes sir, I committed this morning,” Robinson said. “I felt totally comfortable at UVa. Everything was perfect when I went down there for my visit. I have developed a great relationship with Coach Golden and Coach Mike Groh, and the few times I’ve talked to Coach Al Groh have been great. The love they showed me throughout was the love I got when I called this morning. I talked to pretty much the whole staff. They were excited and telling me they were happy I was a part of their program.

“Also, the class is setting up to be something special, so I didn’t want to wait too long and miss out. It’s not that the class is filling up, it’s the caliber of players they are getting, and I wanted to be a part of that. Virginia just seems like a complete fit for me.”

Robinson has been thinking about UVa since his unofficial visit earlier this Spring.
