Another Gar-Field Sleeper?

Last Spring, Gar-Field defensive end Clint Sintim burst onto recruiting radars by receiving scholarship offers from Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Maryland and heavy interest from Ohio State and Tennessee. This year, it appears Gar-Field may have another early sleeper.

The player is Kevin Crawford , who new Gar-Field Head Coach Joe Mangano feels exhibits great potential. Crawford transferred to Gar-Field from Brooklyn, New York, as a freshman. His first taste of varsity football came last season.

“Kevin is raw but he is an awesome athlete,” Mangano said. “He’s 6-4, 275 pounds, and he runs in the 4.8’s in the 40. He has over a 30 inch vertical leap. He can bench press over 300 pounds. He has tremendous potential.”

Last season, Crawford played defensive tackle. He will move to defensive end for his senior season, a move Coach Mangano feels will help maximize his talents on the field. Crawford enjoyed a solid junior season, however was inconsistent. Consistency is a major goal for both Crawford and Mangano.
