Germantown Academy (Haverford, PA) small forward/shooting guard Ryan Ayers will return from his official visit to Virginia today. The 6-6, 190 pound prospect visited Notre Dame officially the previous weekend and may decide in the near future according to Germantown Academy Head Coach Jim Fenerty.

“I haven’t heard from Ryan yet, but he’ll be returning from Virginia today,” Fenerty said. “He’s basically narrowed things down to UVa and Notre Dame. He’s also considering interest from North Carolina and offers from Maryland, Florida, Penn State, and Villanova, but I think he’s pretty locked into these two. It’ll be interesting to see what he does in the next few days. I know he’s anxious to get this thing behind him.”

According to Fenerty, Ayers’ official visit to Notre Dame “went very well. Ryan is a very good student and Notre Dame is a great school. He felt very comfortable with Coach Brey and the players there. Before this weekend, Ryan knew Coach Gillen very well, so I think his trip to Virginia was more to get a feel for the players and the campus.”

An Insiders.com four-star prospect, Ryan Ayers is a small forward prospect who has the ability to play guard. The description most often associated with Ayers is fundamentally sound. He can do a lot of things well on the court and has a good knowledge of the game.
