Brown Concludes Fantastic Senior Season

Andre Brown ended his high school career in style. The 6-1, 205 pound tailback has cemented his rating as one of the top tailbacks in the country. He led JH Rose (Greenville, NC) to a 4A state championship, captured Gatorade Player of the Year honors for the state of North Carolina, and was offensive MVP in the NC/SC Shrine Bowl.

“I’m a little bit surprised at my season,” Brown said. “I mean, I just wanted to reach the goals I set for myself, and I knew if I did that everything else would take care of itself. I didn’t know I would be getting this much though.”

As a senior, he rushed for an exceptional 3,479 yards, breaking the NC single-season rushing mark. He added 122 yards on 16 carries and a score in North Carolina’s 21-12 defeat of South Carolina in last weekend’s Shrine Bowl.

With his high school football career complete, Brown will now look towards determining which school he will attend for the next four years. The likely candidates are Virginia and NC State, with West Virginia in the mix but behind both of those programs.
