Goddard Shines in Shrine Bowl

Trimaine Goddard proved last Saturday why he is one of the most versatile prospects in the state of North Carolina, and perhaps on the entire East coast. He caught one touchdown and ran for another in the 21-12 North Carolina defeat of rival South Carolina in the Shrine Bowl.

Goddard, who is 5-11, 182 pounds, is projected as an athlete on the next level with cornerback as a likely destination. He finished his senior season with over 100 tackles and three interceptions as a corner on defense, and rushed for 1,691 yards, had 925 yards passing, and scored 25 touchdowns as a quarterback on offense.

“It was pretty good,” Goddard said of the Shrine Bowl experience. “I played slot receiver, wing back, and I ran the ball some to. I think I played pretty good out there with the rest of those guys.”

Following the Christmas break, Goddard will prepare for his three official visits during the month of January. The three schools he will visit include UNC on January 9th-11th, Tennessee on January 16th-18th, and Florida State on January 23rd-25th.
