Kecoughtan (Hampton, VA) star Jerod Mayo had an excellent visit this weekend to NC State. The 6-2, 215 pound linebacker prospect had a great time in Raleigh this weekend and looks forward to taking the rest of his official visits.

“It was real nice man, real nice,” Mayo said of his official visit. He was hosted by NCSU junior linebacker Freddie Aughtry-Lindsay. “The highlight was probably the football banquet, seeing the highlight film and the seniors who are leaving. Today I spoke with the strength coach and watched some of their practice. It was cool. I would give the visit a nine [out of ten]. Of course I don’t have anything to compare it to, but it was great. I’m ready to take the rest of my visits.”

Mayo’s step-father and mother accompanied him on the visit and were equally impressed with NC State.

“They liked it a lot,” Mayo said. “I don’t know if it was just their first visit with me, but they really liked it. They liked the coaches, the program, the whole package.”
