Ferrine Completes Stellar Season

Leo Ferrine enjoyed a fantastic season in his first, and last, year with St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City, New Jersey. He scored 12 touchdowns – five receiving, one rushing, one kick-return, one punt-return, two interception returns, and two fumble recovery returns. Defensively, he made four interceptions on the year.

His performance has earned him first-team all-Hudson County honors on both offense (wide receiver) and defense (free safety). He helped St. Peter’s, which finished 10-1 on the year, reach the Parochial Group 4 state semifinals, where they lost to nationally ranked Don Bosco Prep.

“There was nothing we could really do,” Ferrine said of the loss to Don Bosco. “Their line was pushing our line. Our quarterback was sacked one time as soon as he hiked the ball. There’s nothing I can be mad about, they might be the best team in New Jersey state history.”

With his football season completed, Leo will now compete in his second favorite sport…track and field.
