Top Target: Tristan Davis

Tristan Davis does it all for the Tri-Cities (Atlanta, GA) football team. The 5-11, 198 pound athlete plays about eight different positions for his team. He has done a good job this season, leading Tri-Cites to a 5-4 record and a playoff match-up tonight versus Chattahoochee.

“I’ve played well when I’ve been out there,” said Davis. “I missed two and a half games this year because of an injury. When I’m out there, I’m taking care of business. On defense I only play free safety. On offense, I play tailback, slot receiver, wide receiver, punter, kick-returner, punt-returner, and I’m the short snapper on place kicks. I would be the long snapper on punts but I’m the punter.”

Tailback and free safety are his primary positions, and the places most schools envision him playing on the next level. Colleges are recruiting him as an “athlete,” meaning he is versatile enough to play a number of different positions.

“Teams are recruiting me as an athlete-type player,” said Davis. “I really like tailback and free safety, but I don’t have a preference between the two. Most also want to try me out at cornerback, but I think I want to stay at free safety.”
