Leo Ferrine Adds Offer

Virginia has become the latest school to make an official scholarship offer to St. Peter’s Prep (NJ) standout Leo Ferrine . Ferrine, a 6-2, 190 pound prospect with blazing speed (he has been clocked at 22.3 in the 200 meters in track), now boasts written offers from Virginia, Penn State, Boston College, and Pittsburgh.

“I got a written offer from Virginia this week,” said Ferrine. “They were recruiting me as a cornerback, but Coach [Al] Golden mentioned to me recently that they may want me as a wide receiver. They are now looking at me as an athlete.”

In addition to the four schools above, Ferrine is hearing from Notre Dame, Rutgers, and Virginia Tech, though the Hokies have not spoken to him in a little under a month. He wants to keep his options open for other schools, however he does know at least three programs he would like to officially visit.

“The three right now I definitely want to take official visits to are Virginia, Notre Dame, and Penn State,” said Ferrine. “I like those three because, basically, I know if I get a diploma from any one of them I can do anything. Virginia is the number one public school, and the other two are just as good. Education is really important to me because football might not always be there.
