Roman Catholic high school’s (Philadelphia, PA) dual-sports star Charron Fisher is receiving interest in both of his favorite sports – football and basketball.

Fisher plays linebacker and tight end for head coach Jim Murphy. He has only played football since high school, but the potential within his 6-3, 236 pound frame is there.

“We use him at outside linebacker and sometimes we bring him off the end as a pass rusher,” said Murphy, who says Fisher will have no problem qualifying academically for freshmen eligibility. “People like his size and athletic ability. He runs a 4.65 in the 40. He has only played football since high school, so his upside potential is through the roof.”

Virginia, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, and Northwestern have offered Fisher a football scholarship. Cincinnati, St Joseph’s, Western Kentucky, and Central Connecticut have expressed interest in him as a basketball player. Virginia has indicated he could play both sports, and the Cavaliers appear to be on top of his list.
