Virginia Tech No. 13 in College Football Playoff Rankings

The initial College Football Playoff Rankings have been released, and Virginia Tech checks in at No, 13, the same as their AP Poll and Coaches Poll rankings.

The top four teams, however, differ from the AP and Coaches rankings.

  • No. 1: Georgia (No. 2 AP and Coaches)
  • No. 2: Alabama (No. 1 AP and Coaches)
  • No. 3: Notre Dame (No. 5 AP and No. 8 Coaches)
  • No. 4: Clemson (No. 6 AP and No. 5 Coaches)

Notre Dame and Clemson are the big surprises. Other ACC teams and their rankings are:

  • No. 10 Miami (No. 9 AP and No. 6 Coaches)
  • No. 13 Virginia Tech (No. 13 AP and Coaches)
  • No. 20 NC State (No. 20 AP and No. 19 Coaches)
