Virginia Tech Bowl Projections, September 26

Virginia Tech is 4-0 on the season, and they’ll host Clemson in a huge Saturday night contest that will certainly have postseason implications.

It’s still very early in the season, but bowl projects are beginning to be released.  This week, the prognosticators have the Hokies as high as the Orange Bowl against Penn State, or as low as the Sun Bowl against Colorado.

Here’s a list of the major predictions from this week.

David Hale (ESPN): Orange Bowl vs. Penn State, Miami, December 30
Kyle Bonagura (ESPN): Citrus Bowl vs. Auburn, Orlando, January 1
Jerry Palm (CBS): Camping World Bowl vs. Kansas State, Orlando, December 28
Jason Kirk (SBNation): Orange Bowl vs. Penn State, Miami, December 30
College Football News: Sun Bowl vs. Colorado, El Paso, December 29
Bill Bender (Sporting News): Citrus Bowl vs. Auburn, Orlando, January 1

For the rest of the season, we’ll use our “Tech Tidbits” feature to keep you updated on the bowl projections on a weekly basis.

  1. Almost Funny ! With Clemson, Miami, Georgia Tech, North Carolina (upset), Boston
College (upset), Duke (upset), etc. still on the schedule, who would take any of these projections with any seriousness ??? This ‘ole’ Hokie is sure glad that Syracuse is not
    on the 2017 football schedule – – HA !!!

  2. I think it’s a little too early to even be having this conversation without it being tongue in cheek. We haven’t played a conference game yet and we certainly haven’t seen how the team is going to respond vs. a huge challenge like Clemson. I think we have a MUCH better idea who we really are after Sat night.

  3. FYI

SI has us at the Orange Bowl versus Ohio St.

Just exciting to be back in the big game conversation!
