Prior to February 2017, Tayvion Land was about as solid as it gets as a commit for Virginia Tech. Land grew up a fan of the Hokies and told Bishop Sullivan football Head Coach Chris Scott that he didn’t see a reason to drag his recruitment out any longer.

Fast forward to May 2017, and Land is back on the market as an uncommitted recruit. Since decommitting from Virginia Tech on February 1, Land has visited several schools and has continued to garner interest from Power 5 programs all over the country.

Land said that he visited Alabama, Georgia and Auburn this spring, and that he enjoyed all three visits. At Alabama, he enjoyed the no-nonsense atmosphere within the program.

“It was strictly, like straight football,” Land said of his Alabama visit. “It was straight football. It was nothing but business there.”
