Divine Deablo is a Big Addition to the 2016 Class

When you name your kid Divine Deablo, you’re all but guaranteeing that they are going to make it in sports. You just don’t meet normal people with names like Divine Deablo.

The definition of “Diablo” is devil. Deablo might not be spelled exactly the same, but that’s okay. We will have a Divine Devil playing wide receiver for us next season, and it doesn’t get any better than that. Here’s hoping he makes things very Hellish on opposing secondaries. That would be quite heavenly for VT fans. (Editor’s note: really, Chris?)

Deablo picked VT over UNC and NC State, and he also had listed offers from Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee, South Carolina, Tennessee, etc. These days it’s hard to tell when an offer is committable and when it isn’t. We know teams like Ohio State and Florida throw out offers all over the place, but only a few are committable. Even Virginia Tech offered Keyvone Bruton early, but then he had a tough junior season. He worked out at Tech’s camp this past Saturday in hopes of improving his offer to committable once again. That’s just the way it is in college sports these days. As long as all the coaches are up front and honest with recruits, it doesn’t bother me.

My point is that I don’t know if all of Deablo’s offers were committable offers, but either way he’s obviously a sought after prospect.  Zohn Burden and Charley Wiles did a great job of recruiting a highly sought after player.  Here are his rankings:
