1) We appear to be accepting JUCOs now. How much had to change at VT for that to happen, and when do you expect football to get into that? Post Beamer? It seems to be a part of all “big boy” programs. – wsc172

Chris Coleman: Shane Henry was still taking classes last summer to get eligible for Virginia Tech, so I’m not sure they are quite as stringent with the academic requirements as they used to be. That said, not all JUCOs are academic risks. Johnny Hamilton, who just signed with Tech, isn’t in a JUCO because of academics. He’s there because he didn’t start playing basketball until he was 16. Ty Outlaw, who visited Tech last weekend, actually went to UNC Greensboro before his one year in JUCO. Just because a guy is a JUCO player doesn’t mean that he’s an academic risk.
