Senior defensive end Darius Fullwood and the rest of the Good Counsel (Olney, MD) defense has been stingy this season, spurring the Falcons on to a 5-1 start that includes big victories over WCAC rivals Gonzaga and DeMatha Catholic the past two weeks. On average, the Falcons defense has allowed only 10 points per game. The defense has recorded one shutout and held two other opponents to single digits.
“We are playing well,” Fullwood said.
The 2014 season is going well for the 247Sports 3-star recruit (Rivals ranks him as a 4-star prospect), who will take his talents to Blacksburg to play for Virginia Tech. Fullwood verbally committed to Virginia Tech on September 23, just after reneging on his previous commitment to the University of Kentucky.
“After talking with my family, trying to figure out the best school for me, I think this is the right decision,” Fullwood said, referring to his decision to switch his commitment from the Wildcats to the Hokies.
