Reynolds Talks VT, “The Opening”

Mook Reynolds verbally committed to Virginia Tech while attending a Junior Day in Blacksburg this past February. He has made several return visits since then, most recently this past Monday while Virginia Tech was holding a one-day camp.

It is no secret that the Northern Guilford (Greensboro, N.C.) rising senior has been exploring other college options, despite the fact that he always speaks so highly of Virginia Tech. Monday’s experience, while a positive one, did not result in Reynolds closing off his recruitment.

“I’m solid in my commitment. Virginia Tech is the school I’m committed to right now,” Reynolds said. “When I take other visits, a school will have to blow my mind in order for me to change my decision. Virginia Tech is my school all the way. It is the school I plan on going to right now.”

Reynolds has become close with the Virginia Tech coaching staff. He helped out defensive backs coach Torrian Gray a bit during the camp, throwing passes to defensive backs in afternoon drills. Reynolds also was seen joking around post-camp with receivers coach Aaron Moorehead. A quality relationship with the coaches is one of several reasons why Reynolds committed to the Hokies.
