Ryan Williams Eyeing Early January Decision

5-10, 205-pound senior running back Ryan Williams , a 4-star prospect out of Stonewall Jackson (Manassas, VA), was recently selected to participate in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on January 5th, 2008. Williams, one of the top remaining uncommitted players in the state, has also made some headway on the recruiting front.

For Stonewall Jackson head coach Loren Johnson, Williams’ Army Bowl selection was an accomplishment for both player and school.

“It was a culmination of four years,” Johnson said. “It shows the progress our school has made in four years, both athletically and academically. About four or six years ago, I don’t think this could’ve happened. From an individual standpoint, from the coach to the player, we have been through everything together. We have gone through our ups and downs with going through injuries, people talking about him and keeping him motivated and moving forward. For both of us, this is an exciting time.”

Particularly in light of an injury-riddled senior seasion, Williams relishes one more opportunity to show his talents on the high school football stage.
