Martel Thatch , a 6-2, 180 pound safety prospect from Dudley High School in Greensboro, North Carolina, will make an official visit to UVa this weekend according to Dudley Head Coach Vic Floyd.

Thatch has verbally committed to UNC, but will give the Cavaliers a look this weekend.

“Yes, he is,” Floyd said when asked if Thatch is visiting UVa this weekend. “UVa has been active on him the whole time. It’s always been UNC and UVa at the top of his list. He’s still committed to UNC, but we’ll have to see how he feels after this weekend.”

Thatch is a consensus three-star prospect by Insiders and Rivals. He is very athletic and possesses excellent coverage ability to go along with his frame. Coach Floyd believes Martel could grow into a 200-pound plus safety and keep his 4.5 speed.
