Montgomery Bell Academy (Nashville, TN) prospect Tom Santi fits the bill of the “new” tight end – one that is big, athletic, and very capable of being a top receiver for any club.
As a junior, Santi made 46 receptions for 650 yards and 12 touchdowns. He hopes to improve on those numbers this year for Montgomery Bell Head Coach Jeff Rutledge.
“Tom is 6-4 1/2, or maybe 6-5, weighs 225 pounds and runs a 4.55 in the 40,” said Coach Jeff Rutledge. “He really stretches the defense and is a big weapon for us. Any time he’s not on the field we really miss him.”
Colleges have taken notice. Santi, who carries a 4.0 GPA, has received offers from many schools including Iowa, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Colorado, and LSU. Virginia, Stanford, Miami (FL), and Mississippi are heavily recruiting him.
