Michael Brewer Cleared to Practice; Marshawn Williams Re-Injures Knee

Michael Brewer

Virginia Tech released the following injury report on Monday afternoon.

QB Michael Brewer

Michael has been cleared to fully participate in practice, but will wear a yellow non-contact jersey like the rest of our quarterbacks.

Our medical team and coaching staff will continue to evaluate Michael’s progress throughout the week.

A final determination on Michael’s status could potentially be a game-time decision.

RB Marshawn Williams

On Sept. 29, Marshawn re-injured his left knee that had previously been repaired on Dec. 16, 2014.

Marshawn will require another surgery and will be out for the remainder of the season. Coach Beamer will apply for a medical hardship waiver through the ACC.

We expect Marshawn to make a complete recovery from this injury and look forward to his return.

  1. Perplexed. Why are we constantly plagued by injuries? Are our recruits not in top shape? Is our strength program inadequate? Do all teams have this level of injury, but have the second string players to step in?

Not complaining. Just want to understand.

Not referring to Brewer, but the seemingly endless injuries we suffer.

    P.S. Same thing plagued Seth’s and JJ’s b’ball teams.

  2. So sad for Marshawn…here’s hoping he can play at a high level again.. i KNOW how hard he worked to get back!

    1. Starting to sound like “George Bell” syndrome. Is it me or does it seem like we get recruits that have previous serious injuries in HS.

      1. He’s no George Bell yet. He didn’t have the same exact injury this time from what I heard. Wasn’t ACL. Also you are right though. Although Marshawn wasn’t hurt in high school some of our guys are injuried in high school and most other schools back off we stay just cuz we’re so bad at recruiting we take top talent anyway we can get its. Shai and the kid Khalil we just landed both 4 stars but didn’t even or won’t play SR year. Virtually they get to tech off potential which is why a lot of our guys don’t pan out
