Virginia Tech SG Ahmed Hill Undergoes Leg Surgery, Out Indefinitely

Virginia Tech shooting guard Ahmed Hill is out indefinitely after undergoing successful surgery on his left leg on Tuesday, the school announced. Hill partially tore his left patella tendon during workouts early last week.

While the timetable of Hill’s return is unknown at this point, it is unlikely that he will return for preseason conditioning activities that are set to take place within the next month. The former four-star recruit and ESPN 100 prospect appeared in all 33 games last season for the Hokies, starting in 30 of those contests, while averaging 8.7 points and 3.7 rebounds. He is expected to play a major role for the team this season as a sophomore, if and when he returns to the floor.
