Decision Day Here For Top Prospect Clark (Updated)

Decision day is here for Rockbridge County (Lexington, VA) rising senior offensive tackle Austin Clark, who will announce his college choice during the 6 p.m. news on WSLS Channel 10 Roanoke. Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech are the finalists for the 6’6”, 290-pound prospect.

South Carolina and Virginia Tech have generated the most buzz this week in terms of being the Virginia native’s pick. Clark, a 4-star recruit, will let everyone know of his decision tonight.

Clark plans to graduate high school in December in order to enroll at his school of choice in January of 2015.

Virginia Tech boasts five commitments in the class of 2015. All five are projected to play on defense. No doubt the staff would love for Clark to become the first offensive commitment, as Tech did not sign a true offensive tackle in last year’s class.

***UPDATE: Clark committed to South Carolina

  1. I don’t find this too surprising. Many kids are ready to “go away” to college. Rolling an hour and half down the road from Rockbridge to Blacksburg probably doesn’t feel like “going away” to college to start a new phase of your life and experience a new environment.

    Good luck to Mr. Clark.
