Sure, no doubt the bwhatever would like to raid the ACC but if they thought there was any chance of that, they would not have added you.
BTW, it will be interesting to see from a money perspective just how this works out for you. You had to do it but unless you can be at our near the top in football (doubtful) then this could be a money losing proposition for you.
Never say never, keep in mind that soon to be 5 ACC schools shared conference affiliation with with WVU for several years. Like it or not , they are better year in and year out than most football programs in the ACC and this year solidified that. Football drives the bus and its only getting stronger with the BCS changes. Personally , I believe the ACC will have to shrill out some kind of arrangement for ND and then to balance out the league, the likley candidate would be WVU. What other football schools would be poachable to make the league better?

that said, i can think of ONE very big reason for the ACC to consider them: to put the Big12 back in their place. for some reason, the Big12 PR machine has been able to spin a story that they have not only survived near death, but are now THE league to want to be a part of. is Texas still there? does the LHN still exist? yeah, i'm not buying their spin. now i'm assuming WVU would jump at the chance to be in the ACC if the invite came, and that would be the ACC's way of reminding people they are still a sought after league and that not everyone loves the Big12 as much as they'd like to think they do.
the problem is, WVU has (i'm assuming) signed over their media rights to the Big12 for 15 years. i don't see the ACC taking in a team who can't pitch in to the pie making. i guess there's always a price, so we could try to buy their rights back. i mean, does the Big12 really want the rights to BC vs WVU in morgantown?

Granted, but the post concerned basketball, not football.
Football is the driver, BBall and other non-revenue sports are the passengers, WVU doesn't want in the ACC. Most ACC schools were on board with WVU possibly joining, but the boys down in NC didn't want to play Bobby Huggins a few times a year.
Some of us VT fans I seriously believe live in a bubble where VT and the ACC are the greatest in every possible realm. You want to talk about not wanting to go to Morgantown, I have seen opposing fans treated terribly in Blacksburg as well. It happens everywhere in the United States. If you would ever get out of your dilusional VT bubble you would know that.
