Is "Applications in Superiority" an undergrad or grad course?

Tom Turkey Gobbler, the course you are referencing is a required course for both undergrad and graduate students at The University. It is a fairly easy course for the majority of our students with the possible exception of those that arrive on The Grounds (or simply "Grounds") with a high school diploma from a public school. Those individuals will often need tutoring which is provided by former members of The Pep Band.
Granted, that is a little different just because one player in basketball actually can make that big of a difference (e.g. Marcus Camby at UMass or Tim Duncan at Wake). But when you have hovered between awful and a little better than mediocre for so long, news that big is going to spark some overreactive excitement.
