It's hard now to look back at last night's matches and not be dissapointed. But we've still got five wrestlers alive and one of them still in the top bracket. The road to getting AAs will be a tough one for all the wrestlers involved...and the goal for all of our wrestlers is to survive today's matches.
141- Neibert- He has to win one more match to AA, but that's easier said than done. Next up is #2 seed Kendric Maple, who Neibert lost to in a dual 13-1. Should he get past Maple, he'll face the winner or Montell Marion V Novachkov. Should he lose he would most like face either Kemmerrer (who he's beaten earlier in the year) or his nemesis Darius Little (who he's lost to twice).
125- Spjut- All in all, a good showing for Spjut who kept it close against Perelli (who I have AAing on my bracket) and winning convincingly versus Dijulius. He's up against unseeded Trent Sprinkle, and would likely face #9 Levi Mele. Should he get past Mele, it's a tough match against the lose or Sanders/Megaludis. He's faced Megladuis earlier and lost 3-2. So one match at a time....but Spjut's got a chance if he continues to wrestle as a high level.
133- Carter- This one hurts. One of the things i've noticed about devin's wrestling is he's prone to giving up early takedowns. This, coupled with not being great in the down position, can get him behind early. Devin usually wins on motor alone...and there is room to improve in many technical aspects. He's got to take care of business and not look past Marrliotti and kalih/Arujau. The he's got a very tough match against the loser or Colon/Futrell, two guys he's lost to before, to AA.
149- Brascetta- Grajales is a seriously gifted wrestler, coming off of an average year. He's got tough, but winnable matches versus Friedly, #11Walsh/Sakaguchi. If he makes it through those match the gateway to AA will be against the loser of Parks/Ness.
165- Yates- Pete bounced backed from a dissappointed loss to Bailey by pinning Brundage in 11 seconds, Today he faces Wright from UTC, Graham/Harger....and the loser of Asper/Onufer to AA.
Carter, Neibert, and Yates move on to the round of 12.....
They all have tough matches to win if they want to AA:
Carter v Colon....conlon majored him this year in the national duals
Neibert v Little.....Little has beaten him twice this year
Yates v. Onufer....Onuger is the #2 seed
