The Tidewater Hokie Club will be holding its annual Football Recruiting Night on Tuesday, February 11th, at Cinema Café – Greenbrier Mall (1401 Greenbrier Parkway, Chesapeake, VA 23320). Our Special Guest will be Coach Bryan Stinespring who will be presenting video and commentary on all of the high school players that signed with the Hokies. He will also be entertaining any questions that you may have about recruiting and the football program.
Two items of note:
(1) With Coach Cav stepping away from the football program, Coach Stinespring has graciously decided to continue doing the recruiting events but on a very limited basis (I believe he is only conducting five of them). The events are done on his own time, while the staff takes a break, so for him to be doing any should be appreciated by all.
(2) This event, along with several others throughout the year, is put on by the local chapter of the Hokie Club. I know there has been a lot of posting on this board and others about the shortcomings of the Hokie Club, some of which you might be surprised I agree with, but the members at the grass roots level that put on these events (Hokie Club Representatives) are volunteers. That is, they spend countless hours of their own time helping Tech Athletics. If you decide to attend this event, and I strongly encourage that you do so because it’s a great time, please feel free to talk to one of the Hokie Club Reps and our other Guest from Tech, Terry Bolt, Director of Development for Special Gifts and the Athletic Annual Fund, with your concerns and ideas. And if you want to take an active role and become a Hokie Club Rep, we’re always looking for good Hokies who can help be part of the solution so let us know.
Below is the link to the event – sign up sooner rather than later because this event is always subject to sellout.
