Boise State football stock: buy or sell?

    http://espn.go.com/college-football/...-state-broncos

Do they improve, stay about the same, decline a bit, or fall off the map?

SELL! That can't maintain that level at that school.

    I mean ... they went 61-5 from 2008-2012.

Edit: In other news, looks like Arkansas State is doing a hell of a job hiring coaches. From the article:

His five-year contract at Arkansas State carries a $1.75 million buyout clause if he stepped away in the first year of the deal. At the time of Harsin's hiring, Arkansas State athletic director Terry Mohajir said it was important to get someone who would remain with the program for more than one season.

The Red Wolves have had three straight one-and-done coaches: Hugh Freeze, Malzahn and Harsin.

Good move by the Ark. State AD, to put that 1.75 million buyout in there. I'm surprised Boise is willing to pay that.

SELL... not only did they win 90% of their games, which is unsustainable there, they won many in "horseshoe" fashion with gadget plays... that luck runs out in the game of football quickly... They will be a nice MAC-level mid major program unless they find another Peterson and that same luck

Those horseshoe plays were used when BS took extra practice time (that drew sanctions). Sell!

    Sell everything you've got.

They were already on a downward trajectory with the conference move, and now they're losing their coach? And the 5 Power Conferences are now starting to work with the NCAA to essentially split away from the pack? Sell.

Get back in there and SELL! SELL! SELL!

With the move to a depleted MWC, the loss of Peterson, and a new paradigm for selecting the big bowls (one that places an emphasis on SoS, which the Broncos will not have), they're in a tough spot.

This new hire Harsin is the absolute best scenario they could have hoped for with a Peterson move. The guy was basically the architect of the very good offensive years from 3-7 years ago, and he's a Boise native so recruiting won't need to start from scratch. Yep, they're struggling relative to the glory years, but it's too soon to say they're going away.

Sell. The non-big 5 conference schools are going to be hurting in the near future.
