Big rumors that Swofford strong armed the CFA Bowl

Into taking Duke over Miami, and the CFA reps as well as the sponsors in Atlanta are really ticked off about it. They wanted Miami all along for the ratings and even had it agreed upon with the Miami reps, and then Swofford got involved. Now they've essentially been bullied into taking Duke.

Wow, if this is true. Must be nice to be one of the chosen programs that the commissioner goes to bat for.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised. Swoffard takes care of the NC Mafia.

As I said in the chat boards, you better believe this comes back to haunt the ACC in the future.

BCS level college football is a resource war, not a morality play.

Bullied how? What leverage does Swofford have to do anything there?

No clue, just forwarding what I'm seeing. Whatever leverage he has, he apparently used it and then some.

Biggest issue here is how does this alleged action affect our bowl destination?

In all fairness, doesn't Duke deserve the better bowl over Miami, who they beat in the standings and in the field?
No trees were harmed in the making of this post. However, billions of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

Not to mention that this type of thing goes on every year for more then just the "chosen" teams.
