No. Situations are never exactly the same. Apples and oranges.

No. Auburn's success is all about Gus Malzahn. Malzahn recruited and coached (OC and QB coach) many of this year's Auburn team before going to Arkansas State for one year. It looks like Auburn's success in 2010 came from Malzahn's offense and tutelage of Cam Newton. Gene Chizik was very successful with Malzahn on his staff. Without him, Chizik went 3-9 (0-8 in SEC) in 2012 when Malzahn left for Arkansas State. Loeffler was there for only 1 year. IMHO, I think Loeffler would've been a successful OC/QB coach at Auburn under Malzahn.

There's no way around it. If you are Scot Loeffler you have to be at least a little embarrassed by how good Auburn has been just one year after he was the OC.

That doesn't mean Loeffler is not a good coach, but the fact is that Loeffler left and Auburn almost immediately got MUCH better.

Not at all. Completely different systems. We'll see how strong they are going forward.

Different systems and different talent. Did you watch Auburn last year? Their QB situation was a complete disaster and the kid that was their starter they moved to safety this summer.

let me repeat that. The starting QB from last season now plays....safety.

Now you go win with that in the SEC. Good luck.
