Worst basketball program in the nation. It goes beyond just this team, from top to bottom this program has been a complete disaster since the 80s. We need a fresh perspective from the AD and it will have to come from someone who hasn't been infected with the status quo we have grown used to seeing.

This product we are putting out there is the exact reason the ACC never wanted us. We just don't care about basketball in a basketball conference. Absolutely unacceptable for a large state run institution like us in as large a state as we are in.

If we ever want to be respected in this conference, we have to field a better product than this. And having a first time head coach leading the way isn't exactly the way to get it done.

That is *so* overblown. Six post-season appearances in the nine years with Greenberg is hardly a "complete disaster".

That said, the current trend will have us soon looking back fondly on the time that we were whining about only going to the NIT multiple years in a row.

NIT isn't real post-season. In reality we are looking at 2 NCAA tournament appearances since the 1990.

Hang on - is the NIT now the measuring stick for coaching success? wow

In reference to "complete disaster", NIT would be a measuring stick. It's not necessarily the success we wanted, but we could do a lot worse...like where it looks like we'll be this season, unfortunately. What's the status of Rankin?

It could be between us and Miami, Fl. They lost to St. Francis last night 66-62.

Yeah, I wouldn't call repeated NCAA bubble appearances a tremendous success, but it's hardly a "complete disaster".

Found this on a Yahoo Sports article on today's loss:
Rankin did not play due to personal reasons, and there is no timetable for his return.

In that case Seth Greenberg was the Frank Beamer of our basketball program and we fired him
