According to ESPN, "Virginia Tech's Top Two RBs Out With Injuries"

Guess who wrote that genius headline...

Did you watch the video? It's actually just as bad as the headline! T

Host: "If Coleman can't go against Bama, who will be the running back?"

Dinich: "It'll probably be Trey Edmunds."

Uh, it'll definitely be Trey Edmunds. It would've been Trey Edmunds BEFORE Gregory got hurt. Heck, it probably would've been Trey Edmunds before Coleman got hurt. She really is dense.

By the way, I wish you would've just told me she wrote the headline -- I had to click on it and now I'm feeling bad about giving her any web traffic whatsoever! :>)

I don't know if she hates covering sports (instead of fashion), or if she's just a blithering idiot...either way she spends almost zero time researching her topics.

I seriously wonder how some of these writers end up with ESPN. Did she actually put in some level of effort as a beat writer? Not to be mean, but its not like she is getting by solely on her looks here like a sideline reporter.

LOL @ getting by solely by her looks...

Here's the problem... we all assume b/c she's working for ESPN that she's actually being paid well. There's probably a good reason that she is working for ESPN and someone like Bitter is working for local papers. ESPN probably doesn't pay her or the other bloggers a competitive salary. Even if she was "good" they wouldn't pay her I'm sure. Look at all the recent cuts... they layed off Howie for +'s sake!

Meanwhile we can go to TSL, keyplay, and local papers for decent coverage and ESPN's competitors for the national perspective. If it's a national story, ESPN will have Maisel or Slabach (sp?) cover it anyway.

FYI - writers seldom write their own headline. It's done by an editor or another staffer.

The problem is that the interview itself is consistent with the headline. She thinks Trey Edmunds "may" be the guy the Hokies turn to. I mean, Edmunds was co-#1 BEFORE all the injuries.

Just sharing some info. I didn't read the article, nor am I defending how it is written.
