UConn & Cincy went to a BCS Bowl and Boise has too...I am not sure I see much value in it.

Conferences are looking more for sustained success. Bosie already has that to some degree and I don't think one year in the Big Exit Conference is going to help them. I do believe there is a lot of poker being played in the traditional media and social media right now to get what they want.

Georgia Tech and UNC are two big reasons ND likes the ACC. You can figure out the rest if you think about it...

So what's more likely... The big 10 makes a move for 2 more acc teams (assuming MD gets out of paying the full exit fee) or ND commits fully to the ACC? Seems like ND is too passive in this to make that kind of (major) move first.

Or option 3: the acc expands with a significant school?

The B1G is trying to get ACC teams right now and thus causing the conference to implode.

So the question should be directed at ND. They will need a conference because the rules to get to the National Championship are going to change so that you have to be in a conference.(They already did to some degree in June, but most forget that) Too many big football schools want that to happen and ND is out numbered and they know it. (I am ducking for the ND will never join a conference crowd...expect many post on this)

That said, does ND want to be just another mid-western school like most of the schools in the B1G want or do they want to be the Big Man On Campus in the ACC?

Nah...last night's leftovers microwaved and re-seasoned. ACC isn't losing any more schools. We all read Will's article that demonstrated how the planets aligned just right for Maryland's exit, and it required incoherent leadership to happen.

I'm sure the B10 would like UNC and GT, but that is never gonna happen. Like GT would decide to join a conference where MARYLAND was the nearest opponent? Lunacy.

UNC will go down with ACC basketball to the bitter end, football be damned.

FSU and Clemson to B12, yeah keep dreaming B12, problem is that the B12 can't offer those schools anything they don't already have. Money is no better.

VT to SEC. I think the fork has been stuck in that one. It's until death do we part for VT and the ACC. There are no backroom talks with the SEC going on.

Understood, it's just a question of how stubborn ND is going to be. Will their passiveness lead to the acc losing teams before ND chooses to make a decision to join the acc?

It's a slippery slope that ND is on.

Might I suggest that you all take this discussion back to the "special" board established for it
