    So if we sell 5k, and eat 8k at $75 a pop, that's a $600k hit. Ouch!

Has < 0.1% to do with tickets sold.

.@thekeyplay Cheapest ticket on StubHub is $4. Cheapest through VT is $72. Seems like simple economics. People aren't stupid.

They are not bad tickets for this game...and they're not "overpriced", just full price. You think $72 is overpriced for FSU-Notre Dame? Because that was the matchup last year. Although I guess you could argue that all bowl games except the NC game are overpriced

There were a large number of reasons to root for not going to a bowl game and only one good reason from my perspective (another game for the seniors) to go. And I hadn't even considered the large financial loss that we're about to take.

I don't know. Maybe because you support the school? Or maybe you prefer to support those executives at the sponsors who get those tickets for free and then sell them to you?

The only language Weaver understands is $$$, that's for sure.

Well, that's what happens in this modern age. We might wind up having 15K people there, but most people are smart enough to know that unless you are going to a bowl like the MNC that is in high demand, you are better off with the secondary market. Unlike 15 years ago where the secondary market meant going to a shady character who might be selling fake tickets, nowadays services like Stubhub guarantee everything.

Why am I going to pay $75 or whatever to buy a ticket through Tech when they are next to nothing on Stubhub and I can get a much better seat?

Speaking of FSU...It is selling OB tix at a 50% discount to its boosters/season ticket holders.
