NCAA Recruiting Calendars

 

Keeping up with recruiting can be difficult. In order to make things easier, we’ve put the NCAA recruiting calendars below.

FBS Recruiting Calendar

This calendar runs from August 1, 2016 to July 31, 2017.

August 1 – November 26 — Quiet Period

  • Authorized off-campus recruiters cannot visit a recruit’s school more than once during this period.

November 27 – December 11 — Contact Period

  • Authorized off-campus recruiters can make six in-person visits for each recruits, though multiple visits cannot be made in a single week.

December 12, 2016 – January 11, 2017 — Dead Period

  • No in-person contact can be made by recruiters, however phone calls and text messages are still allowed.

January 12 – January 28 — Contact Period

  • This is generally the final time for athletes to make official visits.

January 29 — Quiet Period

January 30 – February 2 — Dead Period

  • National Signing Day is on Wednesday, February 1.

February 3 – April 14 — Quiet Period

  • Authorized off-campus recruiters cannot visit a recruit’s school more than once during this period.

April 15 – May 31 — Evaluation Period

  • Coaches may watch recruits and visit their school, but may not meet face-to-face with recruits or their parents during this time. Phone calls and text messages are allowed.
  • Evaluation is now allowed on Sundays during this time period, as well as May 29.

June 1 – June 25 — Quiet Period

  • Authorized off-campus recruiters cannot visit a recruit’s school more than once during this period.

June 26 – July 9 — Dead Period

  • Again, no face-to-face contact can be made by recruiters at this time.

July 9 – July 31 — Quiet Period

  • Authorized off-campus recruiters cannot visit a recruit’s school more than once during this period.

Men’s Basketball Recruiting Calendar

This calendar runs from August 1, 2016 to July 31, 2017.

All live evaluations during recruiting periods must be limited to high school, prep school or two-year college contests/tournaments, practices and regular scholastic activities involving recruits.

August 1 – September 8 — Quiet Period

  • Authorized off-campus recruiters cannot visit a recruit’s school more than once during this period.

September 9 – November 6 — Recruiting Period

  • Authorized off-campus recruiters cannot visit a recruit’s school more than once during this period.

November 7 – November 10 — Dead Period

  • No in-person contact can be made by recruiters, however phone calls and text messages are still allowed.

November 11 – December 24 — Recruiting Period

December 24 – December 26 — Dead Period

  • No in-person contact can be made by recruiters, however phone calls and text messages are still allowed.

December 26, 2016 – March 29. 2017 — Recruiting Period

March 30 – April 6 — Dead Period

  • Again, no face-to-face contact can be made by recruiters at this time.

April 6 – April 19 — Recruiting Period

  • There is a dead period during this time from from April 10-13.
  • Spring Signing Period opens April 12.

April 20 – July 5 — Quiet Period

  • There are evaluation periods during this time from April 21-23 and April 28-30.
  • There is a dead period during this time from May 18-26.

July 6 – 31 — Dead Period

  • There are three evaluation periods during this time from July 12-16, July 19-23 and July 26-30.
