ACC Votes to Once Again Consider North Carolina for Neutral-Site Championships

The ACC announced Friday afternoon that the Council of Presidents had voted to once again consider North Carolina locations for neutral-site conference championships.

The move comes after the North Carolina legislature passed a repeal of the controversial H.B. 2 law, commonly referred to as the “Bathroom Bill”.

Last summer, the ACC announced that until the H.B. 2 law was repealed, the state of North Carolina would not be considered for future conference championship sites. The ACC removed several neutral-site championships from the state, including the conference’s football championship. Instead, the ACC Football Championship Game was played at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, FL.

  1. Funny how the ACC will move its championships out of NC in protest but not its headquarters.

  2. I lost all respect for the acc adminusration over this. Wish the federal govt had sued them as a nonprofit who is not wage economic war over political ideology.

  3. I have lost all respect for the acc adminusration. With the federal government had sued the acc as a non profit waging economic sacttions about politics…the are suppose to stay out of that.

  4. The ACC…on the cutting edge of all things bathroom.

    1. I’m kinda thinking that the NCAA is watching their own butt in these kinda things. March Madness is how the NCAA pays itself, roughly 40% of what will be a $1B+ haul this year. I’m thinking that’s why they just handed out another $200M to schools, they don’t want to be seen sitting on a stash of coin if/when someone starts asking questions. And the bathroom thing? What’s better than being a social justice warrior to get out in front of image questions.

No, they know their butt’s on the line here too, no one’s bothered to look into things for 20 year at UNC really doesn’t look good at all.
