The ACC announced today that Virginia Tech’s football game against Duke in Lane Stadium on October 28 will be a night game. Game time is set for 7:2o PM, and the game will be broadcast on the ACC Network.

The game time is an unusual one for an ACC Network game. Per this page on TheACC.com, all ACC Network games this season have been noon starts. October 28  is the first date shown as having two ACC Network games, including Louisville at Wake Forest (noon) and Duke at Virginia Tech (7 PM). Actual kickoffs for those two games are 12:20 and 7:20 respectively.

A list of TV affiliates for the game is not yet available.

In other news, this Saturday’s game against UNC will be televised on ESPN2. The network had previously not been determined, though game time had already been set at 3:30 PM.

  1. This is perhaps a sign of respect to make this game a prime-time affair for the conference owing largely to the TV show Blacksburg and Lane put on at night. I hope the realization of the conference’s spotlight – and the deserved nature of it – makes our Hokies play better against a Duke team that will desperately want to save its season against us.

Also, I’m concerned about this being a look-ahead-to-Miami game, so maybe the desire to play well at home at night will help focus that tunnel vision.

But first, to make it meaningful, ‘corse, beat UNC.
