Recently, it was announced that Virginia Tech men’s basketball will play in the 2019 Maui Jim Maui Invitational (as part of the 2019-20 season). The Maui Jim Maui Invitational is a prestigious early-season tournament that was launched in 1984. The 2019 tournament will be played on Nov. 25-27, 2019 and will include Virginia Tech, BYU, Dayton, Georgia, Kansas, Michigan State, UCLA and host Chaminade.
In addition, the ACC announced conference matchups for next season, the 2018-19 season. Next season will be the last season of 18 conference games, as the ACC will shift to a 20-game conference schedule in 2019-20.
- 2018-19 home and home (8 games): Miami, Virginia, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame
- 2018-19 home-only games (5 games): Boston College, Duke, Louisville, Syracuse, Wake Forest
- 2018-19 road-only games (5 games): Clemson, Florida State, North Carolina, NC State, Pittsburgh
