2020 QB Tyler Warren Commits To Virginia Tech

Tyler Warren
Quarterback, Class of 2020
Atlee High School, Mechanicsville, VA

Virginia Tech received unexpected news on Friday afternoon when Atlee High School (Mechanicsville, VA) quarterback Tyler Warren committed to the Hokies, per reports from The Richmond Times-Dispatch and 247Sports.

Warren chose the Hokies over offers from Syracuse and UVA.  The junior is a raw prospect at quarterback, but one of the top athletes in the state of Virginia, as you can see from his highlights.  Some schools were interested in Warren as a safety or tight end, while others liked him as a quarterback.

Virginia Tech is not expected to sign a quarterback in 2019 after successive years of signing Hendon Hooker and Quincy Patterson.  Warren is a talented player who won’t be called upon to play early in his career.  He’ll be able to redshirt and develop.

Warren is listed at 6-5, and his weight varies between 200 and 220, depending on which site you are viewing.

    1. Let me know when you are going to an Atlee game and I will meet you there. My daughter went to Atlee before becoming a Hokie this year.

  1. welcome Mr Warren! we look forward to seeing you take the field just about the time we most seriously go national title party-crashing. your leadership and talents will look great in O&M and contribute mightily to the Hokie cause.
a lefty? – super! good hurdler (LOL); seems to throw long ball with ease; not a bad runner – long strider who needs to lean-in to be still faster; and he whiplash-straight-armed that one potential tackler (highlight #6 i think).

    Go Hokies!

  2. Welcome to the HokieNation!

    Lefty.

Lot’s of time between now and then…sounds like he’s following his heart…but also his head.
He would have time to develop once he here.

  3. Guess I will try and catch an Atlee game, a Henrico game and a Manchester game this yr. But only in Henrico Cty cause Seniors get in free.

    1. nice detail on cost of attendance for us seniors!
that’s a nice offer by the school system to encourage attendance, football support, socialization among various age groups, and reward for members of the “Greatest Geneations.”

i hope you see some good games and some fine VT recruits play well.

      Go Hokies!

  4. Big kid, looks athletic and fairly quick to be as young as he is. If he’s 6’5″ and 220, I could see him growing into a TE role, or a H-Back role like Dalton Keene. If he stayed at QB, he could be a Logan Thomas-size guy who could throw or run.
