This year, 24 quarterbacks took part in the Elite 11 competition. The competition, as well as their stories, were broadcast this fall on The NFL Network.
Quincy Patterson was a part of that group. The Virginia Tech commit from Solorio Academy in Chicago has garnered plenty of attention from his time in the Elite 11, as well as from other schools still making a push. But Patterson has held firm to his decision.
This past weekend, Patterson was back in Blacksburg for his official visit, as the Hokies routed North Carolina. His commitment to Virginia Tech was only strengthened.
“As far as the game, you know how that turned out,” Patterson said. “That was tough for NC. That was cool getting to see the commits, because that was the first time I’d basically seen all of them. I saw KJ (Henry) and I know he’s not committed, but I’d seen him before, at The Opening. It was cool getting to see them and talk to them in person, more than just text. Then, I saw two different engineering buildings that I didn’t last time, so that was cool.”
