Even though Virginia Tech offered Cole Beck on Aug. 5, the Hokies had been recruiting Beck for quite some time. On Friday night, Virginia Tech earned his commitment.

Beck announced his commitment to Virginia Tech after Blacksburg High School’s game vs. Cave Spring.

Beck is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound running back born and raised just minutes from Virginia Tech’s campus. Beck is rated as a 3-star prospect by Rivals and 247Sports, and holds 27 offers. Of those, seven are from Power 5 schools. Outside of the Hokies, North Carolina and Pittsburgh were in Beck’s top group.

Beck is the second running back committed to Virginia Tech for the Class of 2018, and the 20th recruit committed to the Hokies overall in the class. With both Beck and Caleb Steward committed, Virginia Tech is assuredly done recruiting running backs for this class.

  1. This is just really, really good. Welcome Cole. I hope you break all of Sydney Snell’s records!

    Go Hokies!

  2. Great entrance. Maybe better than ‘Enter Sandman’ ! I believe he was actually born and spent his early childhood in Bluefield, West Virginia ?

  3. I really like the throwback t-shirt in Cole’s photo. I also look forward to a hometown player making an impact.

  4. Dang his parents are going to need an RV to get to all the home games. Dudes got a better beard at 18 than I have a 63!!!

Great to have you in the HOKIE fold Mr Beck. Looking forward to seeing you in Lane and also running track.
